We typically give a 45 minute call time-anything more than an hour will require an extra fee. We are very keen on respecting performers time on site.

Important Details:

1. For safety reasons we cannot go up or down ANY stairs WHILE drumming-i.e. even 2-3 stairs onto a stage poses a safety risk of falling. 2.For sound purposes, we cannot split the band in half/portions while performing-i.e. we cannot come out from the corners of the room and meet in the middle, and we cannot split and come down two aisles. 3. We have extensive general liability insurance. If your requirements are more than our current coverage, we will ask you to pay the difference in adding on any additional insurance premiums. 4. We are a musical artistic organization, please keep that in mind when requesting us, FogoAzul NYC reserves the right to dictate how many drummers would be best for any given venue, and what costuming we will wear. If you have specific costumes in mind that we do not own, you are 100% responsible for procuring, logistics, and funding of the costumes you desire-in addition to our performance fee. 5. If your event is outside of the 5 boros of NYC, and/or not public transportation accessible, we ask that you reimburse all costs of rental vans, cars, buses, or taxi fees-in addition to the performance fee. 6. If you want us to perform more than once at your event, there may be an additional performance fee for the extra time involved. If you want us to come for a "sound check" prior to the event, this will include an extra fee for the extra time. It's important to note, we are not amplified, and do not require microphones, and therefore a sound check is not necessary in most instances. 7. If your event is outside in a public space, or park, we may ask you to supply us a copy of the permit approval from the city/agency for the event. FogoAzul NYC cannot risk being arrested for trespassing or excessive noise. It will ruin your event if our volume forces someone to call the police! Comment below that you, and all of your event partners acknowledge this! Sometimes one person will book us, and then pass the logistics to another person, who is not aware of the above. Thank you!

Proposed performance fee. (we love to negotiate!) Please keep in mind the fee pays for the band, and not individual performers, and all money received goes directly to supporting the band.

While we recognize the financial commitments organizations make to host events, including expenses like catering, venue rentals, video presentations, awards, and open bar, it's important to note that professional services such as ours also require compensation. Just as a DJ is typically compensated for their performance, we believe our professional contribution warrants similar recognition. Asking us to perform for free, given the investment required for our performances, may be perceived as undervaluing our contribution. Therefore, we typically require payment for our performances, even for non-profit events.

How long do you want us to play?

For standing/stationary shows the recommended time is 30 minutes. We also love playing for a 5-10 minute burst of fun for indoor events.

Our band size typically starts at 11-14 drummers, but we can accommodate larger groups, as we have up to 125 members. We emphasize that we are professional performers, not simply making noise to attract attention. Additionally, we reserve the artistic right to determine the number of drummers performing based on the size of the venue-we make these suggestions based on what we would consider the best performance for your event.

We require a safe space to keep our personal belongings while we perform, access to a safe changing area, access to a bathroom, and access to drinking water. This is non-negotiable. It's often referred to as a "Green Room". Where will we be able to stash our belongings safely?

Does this truly require a Zoom meeting or phone call, or can it be communicated via email?

Please note everyone in Fogo Azul NYC has full time jobs. We are not always available to have a zoom meeting or phone call and prefer all communications be via email. If a phone call is necessary, we kindly request it be kept to less that 15 minutes and likely outside of typical business working hours.
